A Gi (also named kimono) is used in different fight sports. In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu there are three colors approved for competition (white, royal blue and black).
A kimonos set is composed by pants and jacket. Some jackets are covered inside to prevent the direct contact from the seams and harshness of the fabric with the athlete’s skin. Rash guards accomplish the same function.
Many Jiu-jitsu practitioners use patches on the kimono (both pants and jacket) to identify their academies or promote brands (sponsors).
The correct way to use a BJJ kimono jacket is closed with a rank belt.
Role Bonito started producing kimonos in 2017, highlighting an artistic approach, with a peculiar concept and a cool design.
